California may be without power for the next several days.

Electrical engineers and electricity personnel will be working to accomplish repairs
to many of the electric feeders which provide power to the Yosemite Valley. During
this time of maintenance and repair park guests may experience up to three major
power outages occurring between September 2, 2008 and September 4, 2008. These power
outages could occur any time between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm each day.

The hotels and lodges most likely to be effected by these power outages include:

Yosemite Lodge at the Falls
Curry Village
Wawona Hotel
Housekeeping Camp
Tuolumne Lodge
White Wolf Lodge

The Yosemite Lodge and Housekeeping Camp will not have power in any of the rooms or
units.

The Awhawnee Hotel should have full power from the use of generators, but there will
be no power in the cottages, and guests should still expect some temporary outages.

Curry Village cabins and tents will be without power, however Curry Village standard
rooms will be on generator power.

Power generators will also be in place to supply uninterrupted power to most of the
lodging front desks and the restaurants.

Guests are still welcome to book reservations at any of these lodges as long as they
are aware that there will be intermittent power outages during this time. Lodges
will not be offering any discounts during this time due to the power outage, and
guests are welcome to change or reschedule their dates of lodging as long as they
are outside of their cancellation policy. If guests are already within their period
of their cancellation policy then the terms of that cancel policy do still apply.
